It's a method of teaching math that relies more on theory than rote memorization. We are collecting resources directed specifically at the geosciences, as well as those developed by mathematicians and in other scientific and engineering disciplines that are applicable to teaching in a geoscience context. Social interaction can often be very challenging. Opportunity is provided for practical work a greater responsibility is thrown on the pupils. If we do not explicitly teach important knowledge and skills, these objectives will not be adequately learned.

There are lots of story books (math readers) that teach math concepts - see a list here. Children develop persistence and confidence in dealing with challenging problems. Lecturing is teaching, giving a speech, by giving a discourse on some subject that is open to the public, usually given in classroom. However, spiraling has pitfalls also: if your child doesn't get a concept, don't blindly "trust" the spiraling and think, "Well, she gets it the next year when the book comes back around to it."
